How do you wash a silk kurti set?
Dry clean anything with embroidery, zari or sequin work. A plain silk-blend kurta can be hand washed cold with a mild detergent by someone who has done it before, dried flat in shade and never wrung. Press on the reverse with a cloth between the iron and the fabric. Water and heat are what dull silk's lustre, and neither is reversible.
Which bottom goes with a silk kurta?
A churidar or a straight pant, both of which keep the leg narrow so the kurta's fall is what you see. A palazzo in the same silk works for a more formal evening; a palazzo in a different fabric rarely does, because the two drape at different speeds. Skip a heavy sharara under a worked silk kurta unless the set was designed that way.
Does silk suit Indian summers at all?
