Special Edition Ethnic Wear — Our Showcased Pieces
This is the selection we put in front of people: the pieces shown in our live sessions and on the shop floor, across sarees, kurti sets, co-ord sets and indo-western wear. It is the fastest way to see the range at its most interesting, rather than category by category.
What makes a piece special edition?
Not a manufacturing label — a choice. These are the designs we pick out to show, because the fabric, the work or the colour does something the rest of the rail does not. Most of them are stocked in very small numbers for each design, often a single piece per size, which is how a store this size buys: depth in the staples, one or two of anything distinctive. If a piece here fits, it is worth deciding on rather than coming back to.
What you will find here
Sarees make up the largest part — embroidered, sequinned and zari-bordered, from light georgette for an evening to worked silks for a wedding function. After that, kurti sets and co-ord sets at the dressier end of daily wear, and indo-western pieces for anyone who wants the occasion without the drape. The range runs from an affordable festive piece to a full designer outfit, so it is worth filtering by what the occasion actually needs.
How to choose from a mixed page
Start with the occasion, not the photograph. Daytime functions want cotton, chanderi, light georgette and lighter colours, because that is what reads well in sunlight and stays comfortable for hours. Evenings want silk, net, velvet and organza with sequin, zari or mirror work, which need artificial light to show what they are. Then check the two fit points that cannot be altered cheaply: the shoulder and bust on anything stitched, the blouse size on a saree.
What to look at in a worked piece
Density and placement rather than quantity. Embroidery that lets the base fabric show through it reads thin however much of it there is, and sequins fixed with adhesive rather than stitched will come away. On a saree, look at whether the pallu's work is placed to fall over the shoulder. On a stitched piece, look at the lining — light georgette and net need it, and an unlined piece disappoints in daylight.
Where to look next
For the newest stock, new arrivals. For what sells most, bestsellers. By category: sarees, kurti sets, co-ord sets, indo-western. Everything here is stocked the same way in our stores across central India, or book a video call and someone will show you a piece properly before you decide.
FAQs
What does 'special edition' mean on this page?
It is the selection we choose to showcase - the pieces shown in our live sessions and given space on the shop floor, because the fabric, the work or the colour stands out from the rest of the rail. It is not a manufacturing label. Most designs here are stocked in very small numbers, often a single piece per size, which is simply how a store our size buys: depth in the staples, one or two of anything distinctive.
How do you choose between pieces from different categories?
Decide the occasion first, then let it pick the fabric. Daytime functions want cotton, chanderi and light georgette in lighter shades, which stay comfortable for hours and read well in sunlight. Evenings want silk, net, velvet and organza with sequin, zari or mirror work, because that surface needs artificial light to show. Only after that does the cut matter - saree, kurti set, co-ord or indo-western is a question of how much you want to manage through the evening.
How can you tell good embroidery from thin work?
By density and placement rather than by how much of it there is. Work that lets the base fabric show through reads thin however widely it is spread. Sequins should be stitched, not glued - run your eye along an edge in the photographs and look for loose or missing ones. Placement matters as much: on a saree the pallu's work should fall over the shoulder rather than vanish into the pleats, and on a kurta the neckline and sleeve borders are what stays visible when you are seated.
Can you see these pieces in a store before buying?
Yes. We run stores across central India and stock them from the same range as the website, so most pieces here can be seen and tried on. If travelling is not convenient, book a video call and someone will show you the piece on camera, answer fabric and fit questions and hold it for you. For anything stocked in a single piece, that is the sensible way to decide quickly.
